Who Is Gene?
Gene DeNardo
Gene DeNardo is a house carpenter and woodworker who primarily renovates older homes. He has a difficult time drawing the line there though and seems to feel the need to fix just about anything that is vintage {what most refer to as “old”} and in need of repair. Furniture, guitars, tube amps, vintage audio gear and bicycles are some of the aged items that get his attention. He is also a lifelong musician. He enjoys playing jazz guitar within the local music scene.
He signed up for a political economy class to fulfill a college requirement at the University of Santa Cruz in California. A couple of weeks into the class he realized he had a deep interest in the subject that remains to this day. It was through similar classes and further research that he was exposed to the Libertarian worldview. He felt a naturally affinity to a philosophy that promotes individual freedom and peaceful coexistence.
He lives with his wife of twenty years, Lynn Hamers, in beautiful {and rainy!} Portland, Oregon.
Gene originally joined Freedom News Hour on an irregular basis, subbing for other co-hosts. When Melinda Pillsbury-Foster ended up leaving the show, Gene came on full-time.
